In addition to the general requirements for admission, international students must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum TOEFL score of 90 IBT is required for admission. Exceptions are made for students whose primary language is English, or students who have studied in the United States.
- Proof of financial funds to cover educational and living expenses for an academic year. Students need to show proof of tuition fee and annual expenses in U.S. dollars by completing a financial affidavit. We consider all international students for scholarships if they check the scholarship interest box on the application form. There is no separate form required to apply for scholarship. The Brown School does not provide tuition waivers or graduate teaching assistantship.

We also encourage our students to take advantage of external (non-Washington University) scholarship opportunities to help fund their education. Our External Scholarship database will provide you with a list of potential funding opportunities for your program.
