Lecture: Using Evidence Based Practices to Improve Outcomes in Child Welfare Services
Evidence-based or research based interventions are rapidly becoming the state-of-the-art in health care and behavioral health areas, but are still fairly new in child welfare service systems. Until recently, there were few models that had been rigorously tested and demonstrated effective for altering child welfare outcomes.  Mark Chaffin, Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, will review findings from intervention outcome and scaled-up implementation studies that support use of evidence-based practices in child welfare systems and describe the characteristics of better supported intervention models.
