Tonya E. Edmond has nearly two-decades of experience as an advocate, therapist, program director, and executive director.

"I view teaching as an essential investment in the social work profession. I enjoy creating an educational environment that excites, challenges, and motivates students to explore the field of social work and inspires them to work for social justice.

"I get great pleasure from working with students and having the opportunity to participate in their professional development. If we do our jobs right as educators, we can have a far bigger impact on the social issues we care about than we can soley through our research endeavors."
