About Social Work

From shaping policies to implementing them, social work's roots are in affecting change at every level.

The profession embraces a strong code of ethics that centers on service, social justice, and the importance of human relationships.

People with advanced social work degrees can be found in a wide range of settings – non-profit, government, corporate, and academic.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, the social work profession is expected to grow by 30 percent by 2010.

If you are interested in both shaping social policy and/or implementing these policies at the individual, organizational or national/international level, then a Master of Social Work may be for you.
